I know its half-way through march but here is my February post.
Came downstairs after my shower and the kids had made this masterpiece for me...it was a snowflake! I am constantly amazed by their creativeness (or I should say Lucy's creativeness) I came down because Lucy was yelling at Cole to stop reading the books, because he was messing up her snowflake. When I came to see what was going on she said, "Mommy, Cole keeps taking the books. I'm making a snow flake for you, and he's messing it up!" I tried to help her see it was okay and to just put a different book down. It was cute. She's always making stuff for me and bringing me things.
Baby Sadie was blessed by her father. It was a wonderful day. I love hearing those blessings, they are so special.
One of the many silly faces Sadie makes for us :)
Tummy time, Sadie was much better at it this month. She is a very strong little girl.
Looking through the pictures I found these next two and I had to laugh... Notice any resemblance??
Lucy....
Sadie... they've both got a nice double chin going :) Hahaha
Cole's cheesy smile. I love it!!!
So funny story, We were all playing on the bed before lunch and cole kept saying he wanted to 'sleep'. He pulled the covers over himself and laid down sucking his thumb and playing with his hair. I noticed he looked tired so I decided we better make lunch before he falls asleep. I said it was time to go make lunch thinking that would get him up (usually whenever I mention food Cole comes running!), but he laid there and kept saying, 'sleep'. So Lucy and I went down, I figured he'd follow in a minute. After a few minutes he didn't come down so came back upstairs to see what he was up to, I found him like this
I said his name a few times, nothing. So I took a picture, then tried to wake him. He rolled over and kept sleeping. I really didn't want him to sleep yet, because I wanted everyone sleeping at the same time. I went back downstairs to finish lunch. Lucy asked where Cole was and when I told her she said, "I want to go see, can i go see?" I told her she could and she ran off. She came back down a minute later saying she couldn't wake him up either and he started to cry. So I went back up to check on him and he was laying there under the blankets playing with his hair and sucking his thumb with his eyes open. I told him lunch was ready and he said, "Oh! Okay," Haha, he got up and came down. He is such a silly kid and has no problem sleeping anywhere...especially if he has some hair to play with.
Kids had a book party in the jungle gym/slide/thing...I have no idea what it's really called. They do this every now and then and it is adorable.
Lucy playing with Sadie. Lucy is so good with little babies. A little TOO loving but she has a good heart and really good intentions. I love watching her with them. Sadie loves Lucy too and will 'talk' to her all the time. This was one of the first times she started smiling. We've seen a lot more of them since then and they are so stinking cute.
Oma came over to help us make more salsa. Her salsa recipe is to die for and Devin can't live without it. So we make a bunch more. I love this stuff too and will probably never buy a bottle of it from the store ever again.
Doesn't that look amazing!!! :)
I am well aware christmas is over but this towel never made it into our christmas box and I am too lazy to get it back out. So we'll use it until we move.
I came in the living room to find this scene...
Just more proof of Cole's love for hair. He will read books, watch movies, and just hang out on top of that couch if he has someones hair to play with. Silly boy!
Another Sadie smile. For a while they looked more like this grimace :) But now they look very much like a smile and they warm my heart so much! Her screaming has gotten better. She still has her moments but the days are not nearly so draining! Our exercise ball was my best friend throughout this month. I have logged many hours on that thing. But it helps her to stay calm and happy and that is worth it to me! He sleeping improved this month as well. She would go to bed anywhere from 8:30 to 10:30 and would sleep until 2 ish, after that she would be up every two hours to eat. She had a favorite awake time from 3-5 for an hour (it would vary) so that was rough for a while. But I just kept the lights off and we would bounce quietly. I was really hoping she would learn that was not a time to be awake. By the end of the month she stopped that, thankfully :)
I am so sad I cut his hair! He needed it but I am so sad. This kid has amazing bed-head, and the poofiest hair ever.
Love that cheesy smile!
These two....
It takes them 20-30 mins to fall asleep after I put them down for naps now. Because they just play and laugh and talk until Cole decides he is too tired. I only go in to stop them when they get too loud. But I love that they will play together like this. And I think it's good for them to develop and strengthen their relationship in this way. I remember sitting and talking to my siblings (whichever I was sharing a room with at the time) before I went to sleep. I want them to have those kinds of memories too.
