Lucy Mae is now one month old! I can't even believe it! It doesn't feel like it's been that long, but it's been a wonderful month for sure! While Lucy has always been a very alert baby, the past week or so she's been getting more and more interactive while she's awake! She'll coo and "talk" and has started to smile! She's awake for an hour at least 3 times a day.
Devin and I are back in school. We had kind of a rough start not just with realizing we need to plan more time into getting ready because of Lucy's still unpredictable routines, but also because we've been making some changes in our majors and deciding what we need/want to do. I ended up having to leave the Special Education major because I didn't want to student teach. I don't feel like it would be right to leave Lucy for 6-8 hours every day. And even after petitioning the college won't allow me to graduate with out it. SO I'm now going to do School of Family Life with an emphasis in Home and Family Living! That's right, I'm studying how to be a mom :D. I can be done by December and finally get to just be a mom!
Devin just figured out what he wants to do as well! After a long fight to get into Mechanical Engineering he decided it just wasn't for him and has decided to go into Technology and Engineering Education. "What is that?" you ask? Well it means that he can teach Junior High and High School as a shop teacher. So he'd teach CADD, woodworking, welding, that kind of stuff! There are a few other things, but that's the direction he's looking right now. Teaching has always been something that he has enjoyed and I think he's going to make a WONDERFUL teacher!
Well that's the update for now! I'll leave you with this video clip of Lucy Mae! I took it this morning :D While she doesn't 'talk' a whole lot in it I figured it'd be fun for everyone to see what she's like when she's awake :).
Mercedes, she's so cute! I'm so happy for you guys, and so grateful that you keep us all updated on your life! I love you guys! : )
ReplyDeleteShe's absolutely adorable. I'm sad I missed you last week too. I only ended up being in Orem that one day so maybe next week we can make something happen. I'll give you a call! :)
