Almost TWO weeks ago Cole turned one!!! It was an exciting day! I think Lucy was the most excited one out of all of us. All day long she was telling us and Cole and everyone else that it was his birthday. We've had so many birthdays in the last few weeks (in our extended family) that every Sunday Lucy thinks it's somebody's birthday :). We've had a lot of fun.
Cole was the first to wake up so we got some one-on-one play time together.
My kids have the BEST hair ever. They both have very different hair, but it's great all the same.
Cole has some amazing curls going on in the back! I don't think I'm going to be cutting it any time soon! My mom didn't cut any of my brothers hair until they were 2....they all had hair like Cole...I may just follow in her footsteps :D.
We walked around and banged these sticks together for a while.
Of course, he had to taste them!
Here is the cake I made!!!! I actually made a cute cake! I have made quite a few cakes the last little while and they all look weird, or just plain ugly. They taste great, just don't look that good. So I'm just a little proud about this one.
Fun inside huh!? I couldn't get the green to be any 'greener'. The cake was dubbed smurfs meet leprechauns :)
Cole just patted the cake for the first few minutes. So finally I broke off a piece for him to try.
Then he started getting the hang of it.
Here's Lucy getting ready to dig in!
A little while later, Cole started using his fork.
I guess he gave up on the fork and started using his hands again!
Lucy was thoroughly enjoying hers :)
Here is our little man!!
Love the cake. Have I told you about my cake making adventures from this last year? I can't remember. How funny we would both be experimenting with non-traditional colors . . .
