Came to visit!!! It was so wonderful having them here! We were bummed it was still freezing while they were here but we made the most of it :) Friday we spent the day at the house, the kids took them to feed Spike (a dog we were sitting for at the time). Oma helped us start our seeds for the garden we want to grow this year (no pictures :( but the kids loved it).
And Sadie sat with OPA!!!
If you don't know Sadie you may not understand why this is such a special experience. Sadie doesn't let anyone hold her, of her own free will. Almost ever. She had been in the kitchen perusing the snack basket and came across a bag of fruit snacks. We hadn't had them in a while and I casually said, "yeah, you can have those." and she took off!! She didn't ask me to open them or anything. So I went to find out where she had gone and she was with Opa :) She had brought him the bag and sat with him while she ate them. So sweet!
Saturday we drove over to the Quad cities and visited the John Deere museum. It is a pretty cool place!
They have so many models that the kids are allowed to ride on and play with!
The riding lawn mower was pretty fun.
This little car
They had several simulators. Devin and Opa loved this place just as much as the kids did (and I'm even betting a bit more;) )
Up in the cabin of the Combine. Lucy and Cole didn't seem to mind the height of all the cabins, but Sadie did not like standing in them at all.
View from below...
if you look close you can see Cole climbing up to reach the buttons up high...I think that was his favorite part.
I don't know which machine this was but Lucy ended up in it several times.
She kept trying to sit up and just kept slumping back down :)
Finally something stable and on the ground for Sadie to play on.
There was a little play area here as well with fun toys for the kids to play on.
This puzzle was pretty fun.
A little farm house.
I kept trying to get them to look through the holes....
I'm hoping Oma's pictures turned out better :)
While they were here we celebrated Devin's birthday!
Lucy and Oma made this banner,
I thought it was very creative!
We made pizza,
and played a very fun game of twister!
Opa helped Cole direct the hands and feet :)
Lucy and I fit 27 candles on that piece of cake....
I'm pretty sure Cole thought it was his birthday.
Sunday passed all too quickly and Monday morning we played in the house. When it was time to go Lucy almost started crying, she was so sad they had to leave. She gave them a calendar she had made so they would know when to come back :)
And lest you think I was kidding about Sadie....
I was not...
We love you Oma and Opa!!!!!
