He finally came! I kept having to tell myself he just needed the extra time. All of my baby's have come before their due date, so watching that come and go was a new experience for us all. I'm sure I was laboring for days but from the time my water broke to when we was born was 2 1/2 hours. Thanks to his speedy arrival there was no time for pain meds, but also thanks to one AMAZING husband and an incredibly helpful midwife he was born and I can actually say it was an incredibly positive experience. Recovery has been the best so far and we are all doing great. Ok, enough from me here are the pictures and fun moments from the kids.
6 lb 14 oz, 21 inches long.
Born Wednesday Oct 29th, right before midnight!
He has been a great eater from the get go.
And a good sleeper. I can't say he sleeps at the most convenient times but he will sleep anywhere from 2-4 hours at a time. And there is no waking him for anything. He wakes when he is ready :)
This experience has been different as a whole. In the past I was rarely by myself in the hospital, this time while the rest was nice it was not as fun. The visits from Devin and the kids were all too short and more than welcome.
The first visit they all very quietly entered the room, and cautiously approached the bed. They all seemed concerned for me and asked me if I was ok and how I was feeling. They were all excited about Eddi and wanted to see him.
Lucy was very cal and gentle and quiet. She liked holding Eddi and taking pictures of everyone else holding him. She brought me a pumpkin with a drawing of her and me and Eddi on it.
Cole was SO excited to have a brother. He had been praying that Eddi would be a boy. On his first visit he paced the room a lot and asked a lot of questions about why i was still at the hospital and when I would be home. He asked if I was feeling ok and when I would be all better. while holding Eddi he asked when Eddi would be all grown up :) Before they left Cole got emotional about going home without me. I was so sad to not be going with them. He is so sweet and concerned about the well being of others.
"Leh my see Eddi"
Sadie wanted to be held and hugged the whole time she was there. She was the first one to sing Eddi the "rock-a-bye' song. It was a very sweet moment. She also ate almost all of my apple crisp ;)
First picture we got of Devin holding Eddi.
Thankfully we were able to come home Friday evening. The kids even got to go trick-or-treating! It was windy and cold so they did a couple of blocks and called it a night.
Elsa, Captain America, and Sadie as Herself :)
We are all SO happy to have this new little person in our family. Our hearts are full and our arms even more so.
You are super-mom! Congratulations on your new little one. He is beautiful. :)
