We were expecting the baby to come at any time so hadn't really planned a whole lot. But we ended up doing quite a bit while they were here.
The night they came we went to hear a storyteller at one of the elementary schools and then went to the library for doggie tales.
Oma reading to Sadie
Lucy reading 'Hug'
Cole reading 'Pete the Cat'
Lucy wanted to take pictures of the dog :)
Story time at the library and playing at the park on Wednesday. I even pushed the stroller most of the way to the park in hopes to induce labor, lol.
It was beautiful weather the whole time they were here. Here is the first pile of leaves we played in this year.
We went to the Alpaca farm on Thursday, which was a really neat experience. The owner walked us around his farm to see all the animals. Very informational and the kids got to play with the cat, chase chickens, pet goats, and even feed the Alpacas! We came away with alpaca wool socks, felted soap.
Sadie always has toys in her hands. Unwilling to limit herself to two she decided to carry the baby under her chin. She is very resourceful.

Lucy's portrait shots of her doll.
Game night with Oma, Candyland. Spot it!, and Twister.
Raspberry Creme Soda anyone?
We went on a hike at Starved Rock, it was beautiful. Most of the leaves had fallen, the ground was a lot more yellow than the pictures show.
"Mom take my picture"

Lucy snuck a leaf into Opa's pocket

Selfies at the top!!
Rock hopping
Can you spy Lucy?
Cole found every 'cave' and sat in it.
Lucy brought a pumpkin home from her field trip and wanted to make a pumpkin pie. Oma obliged her and made two!! My kids LOVE dough and batter of every kind. So you can imagine the surprise when she made this face to pie crust .
The actual pie was a hit though, the kids loved it and the pies were gone within two days.
Since the baby hadn't come by Saturday we decided to start some walking. We headed over to bakers lake so the kids could ride bikes and play at the park after. Since we haven't been riding bikes lately everyone was out of practice and our walk was more of a leisurely stroll.
We vainly tried to get close to the duck and egret who stayed as far away as possible the entire time. My favorite part of it all was the kids rolling down (and up in Sadie's case) the hill.
This one is amazing at riding but getting her to actually get on the bike is a battle only her father can handle.
We made a HUGE leaf pile with all the leaves on the side of our house, I'll save you the pictures and just give you the video ;)
Last but not lest we carved pumpkins for FHE. Or I should say Devin and Opa carved pumpkins while the kids directed their every cut. Cole's bumpy pumpkin was so hard Devin had to use a drill to get the holes going. The miter saw was his first choice but the battery was dead. :).
"My nose is burning!"
I think they turned out great!
Our week was wonderful and the only disappointment was the fact that they missed the baby.
