Puddle Jumping in November

We got to a park this week! We haven't been very good about going to parks as we used to be. But it is a goal we have to get to one every a couple of days. It's good for the kids and it gets me playing without feeling like I need to do yard work ;).

Lucy and cole were throwing rocks which resulted in them getting a time out. Eddi decided it looked like fun and plopped himself right down in-between them.

I love that he can make anyone laugh, no matter how upset they may be.

Sadie wanted to be in the picture...but not in timeout. Don't let her halo fool you, while she is an angel she is definitely a little gremlin the other half of the time.

I love this girls smile. She is goofball through and through. She loves to play and will be happy as long as she is playing.

A train runs through this park. It is insanely loud. We ran across the park as soon as we heard it blowing its whistle. We almost beat it to the tracks. We laughed and screamed, but they were drowned out in the deafening whistle. (Why is it called a whistle I don't understand, its more like a blast to me)

It rained this week! I didn't realize we were in drought. It rains a lot here! We get a huge lake in our backyard when it rains.
I made the kids wait to go puddle jumping until Lucy got back from school, but by then the puddles has all but disappeared so we made more with the hose (I guess i shouldn't have mentioned we are in a drought)

I wish this one wasn't so blurry, but Sadie's face is priceless. she had SO much fun.
 They all did.

Cole just splashed as high and as far as he could the whole time.

Eventually the mud came out. It always does :)

Cole has become quite adept at catching lizards. We keep them in a jar for a day and then they get released. Sadly (or I guess I should say fortunately for the lizards) we have not become adept at catching enough bugs to keep the lizards in captivity.

Eddi knows when he is being left out or treated differently than the other kids. He realized that he didn't have any carrots on his plate.

So he helped himself. He can eat them pretty well!

Sadie wanted me to take a picture of her NOT eating her left over enchiladas.

Lucy shaped her pretzel into a swan. It was beautiful. She wouldn't eat it until I told her that I took a picture :) "But its just so pretty I don't want to ruin it!"

Lucy painted an 'indian vest' at school for their thanksgiving feast this past week.

The other kids were feeling a little left out so we made some for them too.

Eddi made sure to taste the paint for everyone. Eventually the brush was more interesting than the colors on the paper.

Our friends from Illinois sent us a picture of the inches of snow they got on Saturday. I showed the kids and they were sad. Devin misses it too. I guess I am the only one who doesn't miss the snow or cold....I am soaking up the warmth for as long as I can!!! Thank you Georgia for giving us an uncommonly warm winter :)

Until next time.
