Thanksgiving

The kids are early risers, that has always been the case and will most likely always be the case. Someday Devin and I will be grown up enough to go to bed early enough to be happy early risers too! Haha!

Lucy playing with Eddi while we try to get the following face on camera...
 Such a funny face!!
He makes it all the time, sad, happy, goofy, mad, hungry...I can't figure out where it came from but it's a winner that's for sure!

Sunday we visited with some good friends. Their children are all older than ours but they play wonderfully and are so nice to our kids!
They put on a 'show' for us. Sammy played the guitar, Lucy played the harmonica and Cole sang about lemurs and other monkeys. It was such a cute production!
I just love these people. I love that we could all pile on the couch and watch raccoon videos together and just relax and enjoy the company. If there is one thing I have learned from moving around, it is that you find good people everywhere you go.

Lucy and I made cupcakes for some friends who came over for dinner. While we were frosting we needed to distract Eddi for a minute...I didn't realize he could take the top off, but he did and he was thrilled! lol. The picture makes it look like there aren't that many, but the floor was covered.

Once upon a time I made a pumpkin pie and forgot the eggs...We ate it anyway. And it was amazing! It was very soft and the spices were a bit stronger, but it was good and I'm glad I didn't throw it away :)

The kids made these Indian costumes after Lucy came home from school with one...
They were fun to make but were forgotten in all the hullabaloo :)
Eddi's favorite place is still here...And he especially loves to follow his siblings. Inadvertently we are teaching the kids about privacy while potty-ing.

Whitney's parents, Grammy and Poppy, invited everyone to their house in Atlanta for Thanksgiving. We came from the South. Esperanza came from the west. Patrick and Whitney came from the east.  It was SO wonderful to be with all of them this year.
While we prepped the last of the dishes Thursday morning, Devin and Patrick took the kids disc golfing. They played nine holes! The kids had a lot of fun and talked about it the rest of the week.

Eddi was the first to enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner. He ate about three slices of ham. He is our first meat eating baby. He also particularly loved the cranberry sauce.

Friday morning the boys went real golfing, so we fed the ducks and played at the playground.

 8 kiddos!

Lucy rolling down the giant hill.

 Cae-Cae and Sadie swinging!

Sadie:"I want to get down!" She gets down. "I want to get up!"..... It was fun, until the boys got sick from spinning so much!

Saturday morning we went for a hike at Red Top Mountain. We were a wild bunch and the weather was wonderful.
Sadie is the biggest goofball. She tries so hard to be grumpy, but if you stick with her and tease her a bit she usually snaps out of it and can't help but be silly along with you.

Crossing the log with "Oh Great Poppy".

Where is Sadie?

Wyatt took a good long nap for most of the hike!
Such a happy baby!

The kids ran the whole 3 1/2 miles of the hike. With little detours to play on rocks and cross over logs.

It was a fun full weekend. Everyone had a great time. The kids played on this hill for hours and hours. Digging, claiming, sliding down, climbing through the bushes. It was a blast.

I always forget to get pictures of the grownups! I will be better.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  1. Such wonderful pictures! I'm glad you had such a great time! Eddi takes after Grandma June. I've always been a meat eater and I love cranberry sauce. Yum!
