Thanksgiving

The kids are early risers, that has always been the case and will most likely always be the case. Someday Devin and I will be grown up enough to go to bed early enough to be happy early risers too! Haha!

Lucy playing with Eddi while we try to get the following face on camera...
 Such a funny face!!
He makes it all the time, sad, happy, goofy, mad, hungry...I can't figure out where it came from but it's a winner that's for sure!

Sunday we visited with some good friends. Their children are all older than ours but they play wonderfully and are so nice to our kids!
They put on a 'show' for us. Sammy played the guitar, Lucy played the harmonica and Cole sang about lemurs and other monkeys. It was such a cute production!
I just love these people. I love that we could all pile on the couch and watch raccoon videos together and just relax and enjoy the company. If there is one thing I have learned from moving around, it is that you find good people everywhere you go.

Lucy and I made cupcakes for some friends who came over for dinner. While we were frosting we needed to distract Eddi for a minute...I didn't realize he could take the top off, but he did and he was thrilled! lol. The picture makes it look like there aren't that many, but the floor was covered.

Once upon a time I made a pumpkin pie and forgot the eggs...We ate it anyway. And it was amazing! It was very soft and the spices were a bit stronger, but it was good and I'm glad I didn't throw it away :)

The kids made these Indian costumes after Lucy came home from school with one...
They were fun to make but were forgotten in all the hullabaloo :)
Eddi's favorite place is still here...And he especially loves to follow his siblings. Inadvertently we are teaching the kids about privacy while potty-ing.

Whitney's parents, Grammy and Poppy, invited everyone to their house in Atlanta for Thanksgiving. We came from the South. Esperanza came from the west. Patrick and Whitney came from the east.  It was SO wonderful to be with all of them this year.
While we prepped the last of the dishes Thursday morning, Devin and Patrick took the kids disc golfing. They played nine holes! The kids had a lot of fun and talked about it the rest of the week.

Eddi was the first to enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner. He ate about three slices of ham. He is our first meat eating baby. He also particularly loved the cranberry sauce.

Friday morning the boys went real golfing, so we fed the ducks and played at the playground.

 8 kiddos!

Lucy rolling down the giant hill.

 Cae-Cae and Sadie swinging!

Sadie:"I want to get down!" She gets down. "I want to get up!"..... It was fun, until the boys got sick from spinning so much!

Saturday morning we went for a hike at Red Top Mountain. We were a wild bunch and the weather was wonderful.
Sadie is the biggest goofball. She tries so hard to be grumpy, but if you stick with her and tease her a bit she usually snaps out of it and can't help but be silly along with you.

Crossing the log with "Oh Great Poppy".

Where is Sadie?

Wyatt took a good long nap for most of the hike!
Such a happy baby!

The kids ran the whole 3 1/2 miles of the hike. With little detours to play on rocks and cross over logs.

It was a fun full weekend. Everyone had a great time. The kids played on this hill for hours and hours. Digging, claiming, sliding down, climbing through the bushes. It was a blast.

I always forget to get pictures of the grownups! I will be better.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Puddle Jumping in November

We got to a park this week! We haven't been very good about going to parks as we used to be. But it is a goal we have to get to one every a couple of days. It's good for the kids and it gets me playing without feeling like I need to do yard work ;).

Lucy and cole were throwing rocks which resulted in them getting a time out. Eddi decided it looked like fun and plopped himself right down in-between them.

I love that he can make anyone laugh, no matter how upset they may be.

Sadie wanted to be in the picture...but not in timeout. Don't let her halo fool you, while she is an angel she is definitely a little gremlin the other half of the time.

I love this girls smile. She is goofball through and through. She loves to play and will be happy as long as she is playing.

A train runs through this park. It is insanely loud. We ran across the park as soon as we heard it blowing its whistle. We almost beat it to the tracks. We laughed and screamed, but they were drowned out in the deafening whistle. (Why is it called a whistle I don't understand, its more like a blast to me)

It rained this week! I didn't realize we were in drought. It rains a lot here! We get a huge lake in our backyard when it rains.
I made the kids wait to go puddle jumping until Lucy got back from school, but by then the puddles has all but disappeared so we made more with the hose (I guess i shouldn't have mentioned we are in a drought)

I wish this one wasn't so blurry, but Sadie's face is priceless. she had SO much fun.
 They all did.

Cole just splashed as high and as far as he could the whole time.

Eventually the mud came out. It always does :)

Cole has become quite adept at catching lizards. We keep them in a jar for a day and then they get released. Sadly (or I guess I should say fortunately for the lizards) we have not become adept at catching enough bugs to keep the lizards in captivity.

Eddi knows when he is being left out or treated differently than the other kids. He realized that he didn't have any carrots on his plate.

So he helped himself. He can eat them pretty well!

Sadie wanted me to take a picture of her NOT eating her left over enchiladas.

Lucy shaped her pretzel into a swan. It was beautiful. She wouldn't eat it until I told her that I took a picture :) "But its just so pretty I don't want to ruin it!"

Lucy painted an 'indian vest' at school for their thanksgiving feast this past week.

The other kids were feeling a little left out so we made some for them too.

Eddi made sure to taste the paint for everyone. Eventually the brush was more interesting than the colors on the paper.

Our friends from Illinois sent us a picture of the inches of snow they got on Saturday. I showed the kids and they were sad. Devin misses it too. I guess I am the only one who doesn't miss the snow or cold....I am soaking up the warmth for as long as I can!!! Thank you Georgia for giving us an uncommonly warm winter :)

Until next time.

Revival

The blog is coming back after an almost one year hiatus...Life happened but I felt I need to start this again! Starting from November and moving on :)
I felt like a did a great job with Lucy and even Cole about doing activities and fun things (usually with a bit of learning in the mix) throughout the day. I have not been so good with Sadie. So the last couple of weeks we've been trying to be better. The kids love all things crafty, coloring, painting, glueing, etc. So we are doing hand prints focused on the abc's. Its been fun so far.

(upside down aliens)
For A we did Aliens love Underpants. Its a funny book and the kids had fun making crazy google eyed aliens.

(the pictures are upside down, sorry)
We have been blessed with some pretty awesome friends here in Thomasville. We all got sick the other week, oddly Devin and I got it the worst. So a friend dropped off some Church's chicken for lunch for the kids and I.

It couldn't have been more perfectly timed, and she will never know how grateful I was, or that the chicken supplied several other meals as well :).

Funny quote from Lucy,  we were getting ready in the morning, Lucy was trying to get stuff put together and someone was bugging her. I hear her roar form the other room, "Does my face look happy!?" Haha, we have been focusing a lot of paying attention to others and being respectful of their feelings...I guess it is rubbing off a bit.

We got invited to Lucy's school so she could get this award! It was cute and funny because I didn't think she was overly dressed up on fridays but She was happy to be recognized. She is determined to get more sight words memorized so she can get another award :)

This is how we do family movie nights around here.

Eddi. This kid is determined to be a crawler forever. He loves to push things around the house and he had a lot of fun using this as a walker for a while though.

I was sad to find out that Lucy's school doesn't include art throughout the week so we are now doing art on Mondays. The kids want to learn how to draw animals because we just love animals in the Moss house. And honestly my drawings make them cry. Devin is a more realistic illustrator so we are all trying to improve our skills.

From top left, over and down. Sadie and mommy worked on it together. Cole was the orange one, and Lucy's was the green. We were following a step by step thing online. I was impressed with their ability to follow and we all enjoy it so for now this is good enough :)

Eddi has decided to bee line for whatever place/object/etc he has been banned from touching.
Case in point.
These vhs' are his current favorite (that and the bathroom toilet!! I wish blogger had emojis).

Eddi is suddenly aware of his new big-boy age and has decided that i am no longer allowed to feed him. He is really good at using a spoon! and gets a good bit in his mouth.
He is also really good at letting us know when he is done by dumping all the food through this little space between his chair and the table and watching it go straight to the floor.

I love this kids cheeks and double chin ( I know they don't hold a candle to some of his cousins cheeks, but I love them all the same)

Lucy got a random headache and fever this last week and wasn't able to go to school to participate in her Veteren's Day parade. So we came and watched from the side lines.
I love my little goofballs!

Eddi loves to help me unload the dishwasher, and load the dishwasher...this time he slipped a surprise in there in the form of a crayon. That was a lot of fun to clean up! Haha!

Napping is not a favorite past time around here so sometimes we have to switch it up. I was impressed they actually napped on the floor.
