Such a fun morning!

But it didn't start out that promising....
Devin and I stayed up WAY too late last night....budgeting and going through our finances make for super late nights. But in the end it was a good thing :)
ANYWAYS
this morning I was pooped (even after Devin let me sleep in). I was lazy so we just had cereal for breakfast, then I let the kids watch Dragon Tales while I pretended to workout (one of those days where you just go through the motions, but even that tired me out). Found out one of our friends needed a last minute babysitter for an hour. So I got the kids ready for the day, left myself in my PJ's/exercise clothes and picked up a little so it would be a more inviting play area :).
Lucy was so excited our friend was coming over, playdates have been few and far between since we've been here in Vernal so getting to see friends makes our days extra special.
Our little friend brought yummy treats to share (poptarts and fruit snacks--things we never have in our house anymore. Well we've never had pop tarts, but we used to have fruit snacks all the time) So we all sat down and enjoyed a yummy snack!
The kids wanted the stuffed animals she brought so I suggested we pull out our stuffed animals to share with her before everyone fought over her super cute animals. That was such a fun activity, I have such fond memories of playing with stuffed animals when I was little and I love that my kids enjoy them too.
Isabelle found Lucy's favorite dress up shoes and it almost caused a major fit so we pulled out all the dress up stuff and let the kids pick out what they wanted. We don't have a ton of dress ups and our kids haven't been really big on it until recently. Anyways, here are the pictures of how they all ended up!
Cole rummaging through our dress ups :)
Lucy's final look
had to get one from the back - this is how she always wears her crown

Cole and Isabelle just stood there shaking those pom poms forever :)

After our friend left us we decided to take a bath. The kids needed one and I thought we could make it a little different this time
Notice anything different about the color of those bubbles??
Yup! We colored our bubbles and made some bathtub paint!
Lucy sprayed away while Cole played with the colored goop

At first they tried using their fingers with the paint
Lucy had a harder time since she wouldn't get her whole hand in there

Then Cole grabbed one of our little shaped sponges and stuck it in the paint! It worked much better!

That was the longest bath they have had in a very long time :) It was a blast and thankfully it all came off! Our fingernails are the only things that would give us away! :)

So glad this morning ended up better than I thought it would! Now to sit and do nothing for the next few minutes while the kids finish their naps :D
